There’s no escaping that winter is here. But the sudden drop in temperature also signals that it’s time for warm comfort food. This week’s Table event brings to us the Surry Hills based Israeli-style menu of husband and wife duo FourAteFive. Do not be deceived by their simple creations and no frills mentality! It’s traditional Israeli/ Middle Eastern food made thoughtfully and served (when eating at its consistently packed Crown Street location) without pretension.
Dishing up grandma’s recipes since 2009, FourAteFive has continued to attract food lovers and coffee addicts alike. They make their own blintzes, falafel, hummus, shakshuka and a majority of other ingredients, while all cakes are baked by Jess’s mum! Try their warm winter soup, and if you’re feeling in a morning-mood, the all-day breakfast honey ricotta ‘blintzes’ or the ‘485 breakfast plate’ – falafel, boiled egg, baba ganoush, labneh, pickles, chopped salad, chilli, tahini & pita. If you prefer heaven between bread, the wagyu beef burger; regular burger fixings with beetroot relish, aioli, pickles & chips.
